The situation
A road freight operator with a fleet of 200+ vehicles ran on manual processes, and vehicles spent too long out of service. Fuel consumed 50% of operating costs, with no visibility into pilferage or idle engine time, and service-level breaches were found only after the fact. Vehicle inspection, data capture and safety work were all on paper. Collating data by hand made real-time decisions hard.
